Adding of a new type of source: the Ship

A new type of source has appeared in MithraSIG: the Ship.

The Ship object is used to represent the noise produced by a ship and all the elements that make it up: engines, ventilations, generators, etc.

Two categories of ships are available in MithraSIG:

Passenger Ship

Cargo Ship

Adding of a ship

Adding of a ship

The ship creation function is activated and requires the entry of two points.

The segment formed by these two points will define the orientation of the ship.

The ship settings window then opens.

Navire_Parametres_geometriques

In this window, the ship is configured in two steps:

Entering the geometric characteristics of the ship (category, length, breadth, etc.),

The definition of the acoustic impact of the ship.

Operating modes

Navire_Mode_fonctionnement

An operating mode is used to define the active sources on a ship.

Sources can be placed at different locations on the ship. Their power is defined from a model from the reference models database.

When entering the acoustic parameters of the ship, an operating mode must be associated with each period of the project.

An operating mode can be used for several different ships. MithraSIG therefore contains a database of database of operating modes.

For more information, see the Ships and Operating modes pages in the documentation.
