Population by value interval

Previous pageBack to chapterNext page

This interface is accessed via the Carte_ParamVisu_BoutonPop button in the map window and shows the population exposed to the maximum level by building for each value interval in the current theme.

You can set all the intervals required for population calculation. When initialized, this list shows the intervals for the current theme.

Population per interval

Population by value interval

At initialization, the populations are calculated with the default parameters. To take into account the modification of a parameter, click on Calculate to update the table.

Parameters are the following:

Population att.: Building attribut containing population. This ability can be modified.

Values: Intervals values. By default, they are initialized from the theme of the map.

Limit value: Limit value is optional. It makes it possible to add a line to the table to highlight the populations exposed to a level higher than this value.

Subtraction -3dB: Check this box ignore the last facade reflection.

Method: Population calculation method. Each method is described below.

Methods for calculating populations exposed to noise

The populations exposed to noise are calculated dynamically from the result of a simulation and the buildings of the project. The exposure level is determined from the simulation receivers associated with the building concerned.

NMPB

The NMPB method consists of taking the highest level among the receivers associated with the building, and associating the entire population of the building with it.

CNOSSOS 2012

The CNOSSOS 2012 method consists in distributing the population of a building on each facade of this building. The exposure level of each facade is determined from the receiver associated with this facade.

CNOSSOS 2020

The CNOSSOS 2020 method consists of determining the 50% most exposed facades of a building and distributing the population of this building over these facades.

Classification of buildings

In sensitive buildings, residential (individual and collective), education and health buildings are taken into account.

In non-sensitive buildings, administrative, office, industrial/agricultural and other buildings are taken into account.
