A unit corresponds to independent rolling stock. The editing interface of a unit is accessible from the train list window.

Edit of a CNOSSOS unit

A unit present in the original MithraSIG database cannot be edited. Only user-created units can be edited.

A CNOSSOS unit has the following characteristics:

•The name of the unit.

•The length of the unit in m.

•The maximal speed of the unit in km/h.

•The unit's reflection coefficient (used when calculating the body/wall interaction). This value is between 0 and 1.

•The number of cars of the unit.

•The source spacing of the unit.

•The number of axles per car.

•The wheel diameter.

•The wheel roughness.

•The contact filter wheel-rail.

•The transfer function wheel.

•The type of traction.

•The generation of aerial noise (aeroacoustics).

When a choice is made from a drop-down list, it is possible to find values with one of the following suffixes:

•(Reference SNCF)

•(Reference CNOSSOS 2015)

•(Reference CNOSSOS 2020).

This information gives an indication of the origin of the information associated with this value.

•Reference SNCF indicates that the value comes from the rolling stock definition document provided by the SNCF (French public railway company).

•Reference CNOSSOS 2015 indicates that the value comes from the 2015 revision of the CNOSSOS-EU.

•Reference CNOSSOS 2020 indicates that the value comes from the 2020 revision of the CNOSSOS-EU.
