Facade sources

Facade Sources are used to model openings in the walls of buildings.

A building Facade Source is split in a grid of basic point sources, which number will be determined in the user interface.

The directivity of the point sources is hemispheric with the directivity vector, normal to the front a the facade towards the outside.

The spectrum is a power per square meter dB(A)/m² (or dB/m² for spectrum). The power is spread for each point source of the facade.

 Spectrum(Point source) = Spectrum(from User) +  10 x log10(polygon area) - 10 x log10(num sources)

Which number of point sources need to be define ?

The number of point sources needed for a correct representation of a building depends on the distance between the building and each reception point and the variation of propagation effects.

The building frame is normally represented at least by one point source per face (building wall and roof).

The distance to the closest reception point is greater than two times the largest dimension of an element that compose a building front.
