Linear sources

Previous pageBack to chapterNext page

A linear source is a line object with an acoustic power per meter (Lw in dB /m) distributed along the source.

Point sources in motion

Point sources in motion correspond to point sources with defined speed and flow.

The power (Lw / m) is calculated using the following formula:

Lw / m = Lw + (10 x log10(Q / v)) - 30

Lw: Spectrum of the point source

Q: flow (flow rate / hour)

v: speed in km / h

Line source height

The height of the source is constant above the ground. The altitude of the source is dynamically recalculated during the calculation.

For each vertex of the source, we have:

Source Altitude = Altitude Ground + Source Height
