MithraSIG implements the following railway emission models:

Name

Description

NMPB08

Model published in June 2009 by SETRA.

CNOSSOS-EU

Adaptation of the model from Harmonoise and Imagine projects for the EU noise mapping from 2017.

For NMPB each source(with speed V) has its own reference spectrum as well as the corresponding reference speed and corresponding slope factor.

The correction in these conditions is:

slope* log10(V/Vref)

Notice that without this correction, a faster train would produce less noise: its presence is shorter on each track.

Theory introduces a correcting term in  10*logV to quantify this phenomena.

The slope has often a value of 30 so that globally a faster train makes more noise!
