This chapter shows you the process involved in carrying out MithraSIG simulations.
•Preamble: enter default settings (materials data base, cutting period, weather, etc.).
•The first stage involves the generation of the MithraSIG Model containing all the topographical and physical data required for a simulation.
•The second stage relates to the simulations. It involves the definition of the parameters to be used to run a simulation (area of coverage of the simulation, density of receivers, etc.). The simulation of a simulation is carried out in two main stages:
oGeometric simulation: MithraSIG traces rays from the receivers, calculates all the intersections with the objects encountered in the MithraSIG Model and then links the corresponding sequence (reflections, diffractions) to each source encountered.
oPhysical simulation: for each ray propagation sequence between a source and a receiver, MithraSIG calculates the contribution in terms of acoustic spectrum.
•The third stage relates to the viewing of results and the creation of maps.
•The last stage is the analysis of the results obtained.
